Job Description

Full Time Position Available Immediately

Job Title:  Director of Development

Job Location: Philadelphia, PA

Job Type: Non-Profit Legal Services

Organizational Information:

The Homeless Advocacy Project (HAP) is a 501(c)(3) which was founded in 1990 by members of the Philadelphia Bar Association and the homeless services community to address the unmet legal needs of Philadelphia’s homeless population. People experiencing homelessness have unique and complex legal problems that often are not adequately addressed by traditional providers of legal services to indigent and low-income individuals.

HAP staff and legal volunteers provide free legal counseling and representation to a population not adequately served by other legal services programs. We deliver legal services directly to our clients experiencing homelessness in places where they live and eat. Annually, HAP conducts legal clinics in homeless shelters, overnight cafes, and soup kitchens throughout Philadelphia.

HAP recognizes the immeasurable value of diversity and the urgent need for equity and inclusion in all of the work we do.  To ensure that HAP lives up to our mission of reducing the frequency and duration of homelessness for everyone, we have established commitments that can be found at www.haplegal.org/DEI
