Ira F. Coats, Jr., Esq.
Ira F. Coats, Jr. started with HAP in May of 2021. He provides direct legal representation to individuals experiencing homelessness in a wide array of civil legal matters. Ira has numerous years of experience working with indigent clients and previously worked in criminal defense, doing trial work as a Public Defender.
Ira received his B.A. in Counseling and Music Business from Chowan University. He then attended Florida Coastal School of Law, where he graduated cum laude, received the coveted Law Student Recognition Award, and was chosen to be the Commencement Speaker for his graduating class. Prior to law school, Ira worked in the corporate world as a full-time business manager and suicide prevention coordinator.
