Amal Bass joined HAP in September 2024 as the Executive Director after serving as a public interest attorney in Philadelphia since 2006. Before joining HAP, Amal was co-executive director and the Director of Policy and Advocacy at the Women’s Law Project, where she focused on advancing the health, safety, and economic security of women, girls, and LGBTQ+ people in Pennsylvania and beyond. She was recognized as an attorney shaping Philadelphia by Billy Penn (2017), honored as a woman leading the 175^th legislative district in Pennsylvania (2022), and named to City & State Pennsylvania’s Law Power 100 (2023). Amal received her BA from Yale College and her JD from Harvard Law School.
