Josie Chiba

Paralegal

Josie Chiba joined the Homeless Advocacy Project in the summer of 2021 as a paralegal working with the DHS SOAR (SSI/SSDI Outreach Access & Recovery) Project.

Josie received her bachelor’s degree in political science and journalism from Chestnut Hill College and continues to be interested in local Philadelphia politics, specifically concerning poverty and urban development. Previously, Josie served as Volunteer Coordinator for a local city council campaign, organizing outreach events, recruiting volunteers, and creating platform material based on the needs of an incredibly diverse constituent base. Prior to joining HAP, Josie worked at a Philadelphia-based law firm specializing in personal injury, workers’ compensation, and medical malpractice.
